Ir Louis Michielsen (46) finished his masters degree in Aerospace engineering in 1995 in the field of aircraft structural engineering and moved to the railway industry in 1999. He was member of several international working groups of AEIF, CER and ERA drafting and implementing TSI. As standards and legislation manager he was responsible for authorisation of vehicles, he implemented system engineering principles in vehicle procurement and is currently specification manager for new rolling stock for Sprinter and Intercity series for NS Reizigers. In parallel he is chairing the EuroSpec consortium in driving standardisation of rolling stock.
Ir Esther Tolner (47) finished her masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 in the field of reliability and safety. From graduation on, she has worked in the railway industry in various organisations. Subsequently she has been responsible for reliability and safety of many sub-systems in NS’ trains, performance and budget of freight locomotives of Railion Nederland, overall management of fleet of Railion Nederland and has assisted in various projects of different operators and leasing companies. As an independent consultant she now is assistant Program Manager for NS, with the aim of introducing SNG in the Netherlands as smoothly as possible.
