MSc Louis Michielsen (47). Finished a master’s degree in aerospace engineering in 1995 in the field of aircraft structural engineering and moved to the railway industry in 1999. He was member of several international working groups of AEIF, CER and ERA drafting and implementing TSI’s. As standards and legislation manager he was responsible for authorization of vehicles, he implemented system engineering principles in vehicle procurement and was the specification manager for new Sprinter rolling stock (SNG) and technical project manager for the new Intercity series (ICNG). Nowadays he is within NS the Design authority for rolling stock. In parallel he is chairing the EuroSpec consortium in driving standardization of rolling stock.

Ir. Peter-Paul Frielink (59). Finished a master’s degree in electrotechnical engineering in 1985 in the field of power electronics and electro mechanics. Working for the rolling stock department of NS (NedTrain Consulting from 1999) he was involved in many rolling stock projects as a technical specialist for traction and auxiliaries supply and as a technical project manager. After the acquisition of NedTrain Consulting by Lloyd’s Register in 2006 and recently Ricardo Rail he contributed to rolling stock projects for NS and other operators as a project manager and consultant.

Ir. Edgar Snijders (43). Finished a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with a specialisation in rail vehicle technology at Delft University of Technology and works in the railway sector since 1999. He worked as a consultant in projects in the fields of rolling stock procurement, fleet valuations, fleet strategy and fleet performance. His current role is specification manager at the NS department for asset strategy.

MSc Leontien Verkaik (38). Finished her master’s degree in 2003 in International Business with a specialization on organization management and strategy at Tilburg University. She works in the railway sector since 2011 in projects within NS on marketing and rolling stock procurement, currently as a project manager within the ICNG team responsible for esthetic design and introducing the new Intercities to the public and operational staff.
